We went to Panama Hatties this past weekend for a big family birthday party and it was amazing! The managers were both so nice and accommodating when I first called to make the reservation, and then on the day of the party the wait staff was excellent and very helpful and patient with such a large group. They were even willing to help with the decorations. Everyone had a great time!!! Kids loved the game room too! Restaurant looks so nice and my fried shrimp dinner was delicious. Looking forward to going back. Thanks again for accommodating us and making their birthday dinner special.

Let me tell you something about this place...The service: great and attentive!The food: even better!!!This was my first time coming to this restaurant and it totally blew me away. I was not expecting such great EVERYTHING. Please come here and give it a shot.

We went tonite for the first time. We had crab cakes, fish and chips, and jumbo fried shrimp. It was excellent! Great service!! They only thing I would say is ditch the kale coleslaw. Stick with regular coleslaw and the meal would have been flawless😊

I have been to the old Panama Hattie's, and this new version far exceeds the old one. Everything is new, and well laid out. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted and directed upstairs. At the top of the stairs, we were nicely greeted and taken to our table. Nice menus. Nice view towards St. John's Pier area. Kristen B was our waitress; she was very kind, and very professional for the restaurant business. She got our orders, and drinks and food came out quickly. We had the IPA Goose Island Cod, with seasoned fries and excellent slaw. Large portions that we did a to go box. Pricing is competitive to other restaurants on the island. Overall the new Panama Hattie's is definitely better than the old one, and the staff very professional. Food is excellent, and we will be returning.

Their salads and burgers are amazing. Will definitely be returning soon.

We visited Panama Hattie's for the first time last night. Since it was a Saturday night I had made a reservation and they got us right in at our reserved time. We were asked to go upstairs where we were warmly greeted by not one, but two different ladies.We were seated next to a window with a beautiful view. Grace was our server and was extremely pleasant. The French onion soup was perfect as were our entrees. The portion size was huge! A photographer stopped by our table and asked if we'd like a pic for a postcard (which we completely forgot to get before leaving) but she took our picture together and was very gracious about it. We took our apple cobbler dessert to go and it was DELICIOUS!We'll most definitely be back for another visit.

Great food and atmosphere! The fried cod is amazing! This is coming from the guy that only likes his fish raw!

Great service, food and portions! All staff members are wearing masks and I noticed they clean all tables and chairs after each guest. Highly recommend! Outdoor dining!

Just finished dinner with a group of 5. Everyone left happy. 2 salads, 1 shrimp, 1 pasta with clams and muscles and 1 beyond burger= all smiles. My mom (an Italian) even loved their red sauce. So glad to see this place open again! It's just beautiful on the inside.

Wait was short, service was great, food was good! The crab legs were a good size and had a good flavor. The menu is a little limited, but we found things we liked. We would go there again!

Used to be a lot different a couple years ago. More on the Salt Life side now. Food was great, just miss the old atmosphere of the old panama hatties.

An amazing restaurant with even better hosts. I would definitely recommend if I was in the area again. Alex made us feel like family!

I sat upstairs at the bar and ordered mussels and coconut appetizers! Both were very good. Service was excellent and all employees working the bar and serving food wore masks. The area was spotless! Highly recommend youVisit the place if possible.

Sarah Jo and Maddie werr waiting on my rehearsal dinner, it was a party of 31 people and they was absolutely amazing!! The food was great and the service was just as amazing. If we had it to do over again we would definitely still have chosen Panama Hatties and will definitely recommend for anyone having a large party or even just a nice dinner out! Thank you for making my new wife and my rehearsal dinner so fantastic!

BEST SHRIMP SALAD ON THE BEACH! PERFECTION! I am picky about our seafood. Our shrimp was perfect. Our grouper was PERFECT. Service from Sarah Jo was impeccable. Get out and support your local wait staff, bartenders and kitchen staff. Excellent experience given the Covid circumstances. Ten stars!

Went for a late dinner 1/27/20 and although the kitchen was closing 30 minutes after we arrived, the bartender (who was also our waitress) was very accommodating and made us feel welcome. The food was great, too. The Hattie’s Nachos with chicken was off the charts. The French onion soup was great, as well; loaded with a huge chunk of cheese and plenty of onions. Great food, great service, great location. One of the best restaurants in St. Augustine and definitely the best bang for your buck.

The Fish and Chips are huge well fried pieces. Couple extra $ get you a nice salad.The Pan seared Mahi was cooked to perfection and even better with sauteed mushrooms and onions.As evening went along, live entertainment started playing some melodies. Very nice wine and drink list.$$ but first place to serve up to that value.Dessert menu was lame. Would think a key-lime pie would be offered.Portions are very filling so not much room for dessert anyway.

A must visit! Large portions, our food was cooked perfectly and the voodoo juice was delicious! Our server was very attentive. Can't wait for our next visit!

From the outside, this place reminded me of the restaurant in the Netflix series "The Affair"...so we had to go in. Clearly, they do beautifully crafted cocktails and the food coming by looked wonderful. We stopped in for a bite and ordered the fish and chips, beer and wine. Certainly, the most disappointing f&c we've ever had. The pieces appeared to be lovely but were mostly batter with a scanty sliver of fish inside. Try something other than that here.

Delicious dinner, large portions, great service, nice atmosphere! I ordered the beach salad and the girls split crab legs. We also got brownies with ice cream for dessert. Presentation of the food was beautiful, too. All around yummy! Highly recommend!!

Great experience this time. It wasn't crowded. Hostess was great, server was also great with our questions. Food came out hot. I only wish she would have asked how we wanted our burger cooked as we forgot to tell her. The patio is a great place to sit when it's not too hot outside. We'll be back again but just not when it's crowded.

Great chic atmosphere! Was at the ole Hattie's and this is quite different. Our sever Sarah Jo was Outstanding! The drinks were very good- had an American Mule & the Hattie's Voodoo Juice (which they give you a souvenir cup). I had the herb roasted chicken which was outstanding (got per Sarah's recommendation & she was right on). My baked potato had a harder outside than I normally like but it taste awesome. Really enjoyed the touch of the old pictures of St Augustine that were added. They also have live music outside but we didn't listen.

Good food and good amount. Still a bit pricey though. Nothing really jumped out that was unique at me either.

Waitress was great, food took to long and was okay. Top deck and view was nice and relaxing.

Come on... you do this whole new restoration, we give it a shot, and leave frustrated. FOOD SHOULD NEVER TAKE 1.5 HOURS TO GET TO THE TABLE. The place was not that busy. Some of the dishes were “eh” and cold. The grilled salmon bowl was very good. If you’re going to try and compete with “Salt Life”, you got to do better. Maybe take their template and adopt. We’re locals and we want you to be good...

We came in from out of town and wanted to try this restaurant for its famous name. I grew up with one in PGA, FL . What a gorgeous restaurant!!. Totally redone, great location, amazing staff and food is AMAZING!! The food portions are huge! We tried the fish and chips and calamari for an appetizer and it was delicious!! I got the chicken alfredo and it was to die for. We were treated like friendly and even met the owner. What a great environment. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Their foods always great so's the service. Great place for upper deck patio seating. Steak was superb.

Always excellent service, food and management is truly attentive and willing to correct anything wrong. It happens! Our dinner tonight was delicious, but my husbands burger was undercooked. Such a shame because everything else was so good! The manager came right over and offered a free dessert ! I love the Salmon Bowl and the brownie dessert was decadent ! We were so grateful for the wonderful experience and I must say it’s one of my favorite places because you are treated so well! The food is amazing too...!

These guys are awesome!! From the impeccable service to the amazing food. Thanks to Alex and the rest of his team, we had an absolutely perfect expense for wedding day dinner. Totally reasonable prices, great location and such a beautiful venue. We will definitely be eating at Panama Hatties every time we are in St Augustine.

Very busy night but great drinks and great food. First time up stairs since the remodeling and sad to see there is no more dance floor. Love the fish and chips!

Five stars for the Fish & Chips, three stars for service. We had a party of 8 and the hostess was not friendly or personable when we arrived. When part of our party was leaving she and the server were frantically cleaning the table around us. We were still trying to finish our drinks. We were forced to move into the crowded bar to finish our drinks and conversation. Just takes a little finesse and personality to succeed in the hospitality business. Staff fell short on this night.

Panama Hattie's is our St Augustine favorite of all time!! So glad we made the trip from East Tennessee to see our favorite place completely renovated and restored. Panama Hattie's has retained it's hospitality and charm while upscaling and updating it's decor. The menu selection is perfect! Food portion sizes are also perfect! I opted for the fried jumbo shrimp and was amazed at the quality and size of the shrimp! A dozen very large shrimp deep fried full of tender mouth watering flavor! You can also have this grilled, fried, or blackened. You won't be disappointed here! The staff goes out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. If you're in St Augustine this is a must! Seafood at it's best!! Looking forward to another visit!

Food is fantastic, location is wonderful, and the service is the best! Our server Sarah Jo was the absolute best, wouldn’t want to go anywhere else by the beach here!!!

This place is the worst!!! The service was slightly better than the food, which was mediocre at best. And to top off, I got to watch a couple roaches run for cover as I entered the less than clean restroom!!! Never goin back!!

Absolutely recommend!!! Service was perfect!!! One of the managers named Molly stepped in to help out since the bar was backed up and our waitress Roxy was awesome! Everyone including the guy that brought out the evening lights was cool!! The food was awesome too!!! Shrimp and calamari appetizer is a must!!! I’d do 6 stars if they let me!

Worst service we have had in St.Augustine! Appetizers got to us cold and took another 10 min to get napkins and silverware. Wait staff was truly absent. So much so we decided not to order anything else. Crab cakes were saturated in grease and did not come how the menu described. Definitely not going back. 49.00 for 2 drinks 5 shrip and 5 silver dollar sized crab cakes is a bit much when your service and quality don't match.

Nice restaurant by the beach! Outdoor seating is very nice, clean and comfortable. The servers are very pleasant and the food is delicious! If you like Ahi Tuna then you will love their Ahi Tuna salad which is cooked to perfection and very tender. This became my new spot to relax on the deck while enjoying the breeze. After 4pm is the best time to enjoy the outside deck because it’s nicely shaded.

Service and atmosphere is great. Menu limited due to Covid, so I can get with that... I’ll only speak to the Salmon I was served. I expect a Seafood Restaurant on the Atlantic Ocean to have wild caught Salmon. This salmon was so pale (barely pink) and greasy. From experience, I’d say farmed Salmon. It was not great at all. I get having a limited menu right now, but if they are going to serve farmed Salmon, they should limit it further. The price didn’t seem like I should expect farmed fish, but I’d gladly pay more for wild caught if that’s necessary. I’d expect farmed if I went to a Seafood Restaurant in the middle of say; Wyoming, but not on and island in Florida. I’m giving three stars because of the Covid times and the service was great and won’t judge too harshly on this one experience, but if this is their “new normal” and this experience is repeated next time; the next time will be the final time. And my rating will drop to 1 ⭐️

Been going to hatties since I was a kid vacationing, the new building is very nice! Great food, service, super clean, another good year of memories!

We had an amazing time here. We use to visit for years then a little over a year ago it closed and we couldn’t believe it. This October on our visit to St Augustine when we drove by it was reopened AND remodeled!! We asked and our waitress told us it was still the original owner. The service was amazing and the food was excellent! The manager was very nice as he came by to check on our table. As mentioned before they remodeled including the upper deck area. Very nice space and ambiance. They had a small live music venue (two people) playing for everyone which was a great experience. We had the crab legs for three of us and we felt it was a great portion for the money. (6 knuckles, corn on the cobb and garlic bread). Thanks for giving our family a great experience! Oh AND they added a small REAL arcade downstairs!! Made for a great ending with our kids after the meal. Top Notch Establishment! We will be back in May!!

What a remarkable transformation of this iconic St Augustine establishment. We sat upstairs with a view of the ocean and the pier. The food was incredible! Wasabi Tuna sandwich tasted great! I opted out of fries and had mac-n-cheese instead. Wow. Service was awesome, too. I definitely recommend.

The service was so quick and worth the wait. Our family ordered different entrees and did not want to stop eating. The crab legs were delicious. All the fish was crisp and cooked well. We all left so happy and full. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We had to wait for an hour but the food is exelent and well worth the wait . the service and waiters are very nice and prompt for refills and just whatever you need . I would recommend this place to anyone who wants exelent food . and the atmosphere is just as good .

Celebrated my birthday last night with friends at Panama Hatties. The staff couldn't have been kinder! They all went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and had everything we needed! The food was awesome and wine selection and drinks were fabulous. Can't wait to go back again! Thanks for everything 💗
